R2R

abbreviationStandard termPrinting

A manufacturing process where flexible material is fed continuously from one roll to another.

R2R stands for roll-to-roll, a high-speed printing and coating method used for flexible substrates like paper, plastics, or metallic foils. The material unwinds from a source roll, passes through various printing units or curing stations, and is immediately rewound onto an output roll. It is heavily used in label printing, packaging, and printed electronics.
