Shorthand for a radiation worker: someone who has completed radiation worker training, passed the exam and practical, been issued dosimetry and had their dose history checked. Rad workers can enter controlled areas on an RWP without an escort and are expected to know postings, protective clothing, frisking and their own dose. The training itself is called rad worker training, with refresher sessions every year or two.
All six of the contract pipefitters are qualified rad workers, they can go straight to the RWP briefing.
