Datex2 provides a standardized format for traffic control centers, service providers, and road operators to share real-time highway data. It structures information about accidents, roadworks, and variable message signs so different software systems can read it automatically. This prevents data silos and allows cross-border traffic coordination.
The new variable message signs are fully compliant with the Datex2 protocol.
Datex2 relies heavily on XML and UML models to ensure different vendors' traffic management systems can interpret the exact same incident data.
