Wire drag talk for a snag: the drag wire catches on something rising above the set sweep depth, seen as the wire tightening and the marker buoys towing out of line. The crew marks the position, then divers, lead line or sonar find out what it is and how shallow it reaches. An area counts as clear only when every hang is explained.
Hang on the west section at 9 metres, buoy it and get the divers down at slack water.
