Bundles of high-tensile synthetic yarn laid under the jacket of most premises cables and many outdoor ones. During a pull the yarn is tied into the pulling grip or eye so it carries the tension, and in connectors it is crimped into the body so a tug on the cable does not reach the fiber. It is hard to cut with ordinary blades and needs dedicated aramid scissors.
Tie the Kevlar into the pull line and tape the jacket over it, don't just grab the jacket and yank.
Aramid scissors dull fast if you use them on copper or tape, so keep one pair for yarn only.
