An agricultural worker or farmer whose livelihood depends on raising and herding grazing livestock, such as cattle, sheep, goats, or camels. Unlike intensive confined feeding operations, pastoralism relies on moving herds across large, often arid or semi-arid landscapes to find fresh pasture and water.
