WPT stands for wireless power transfer. It typically relies on inductive coupling between two coils to push energy across a small air gap, charging devices like smartphones, electric toothbrushes, or medical implants. Advanced forms use resonant inductive coupling or RF energy harvesting to increase the transmission distance.
The new payment terminal uses WPT so it can remain completely sealed against water and dust.
