Turn-on time measures the delay between the application of a gate trigger pulse and the moment the device reaches a stable forward conduction state. It encompasses the delay time before current begins to rise and the rise time for the current to reach its final value. Fast turn-on times are necessary in high-frequency switching regulators to minimize the period where the device simultaneously sustains high voltage and high current.
We need a gate driver with more peak current to cut down the MOSFET turn-on time and reduce heating.
