At a specific frequency, the energy stored in a circuit's magnetic field perfectly balances the energy in its electric field, dropping the reactive impedance to zero. This allows maximum current to flow in a series circuit or creates maximum impedance in a parallel circuit. It forms the basis of all RF tuning, filtering, and oscillator circuits.
We're hitting resonance right at 2.4 GHz, which gives us the exact band-pass characteristic we need.
