A floating-point unit is a dedicated section of a microprocessor built to handle operations on floating-point numbers, such as addition, multiplication, and division of fractions. By executing these calculations in hardware rather than relying on software emulation in the main integer ALU, it drastically accelerates tasks like digital signal processing, graphics rendering, and scientific computing.
The sensor algorithm requires too much math for a basic core, so make sure you select a microcontroller with a hardware FPU.
