Front Panel Data Port is a synchronous, 32-bit parallel bus interface standardized for high-speed data transfer between boards in a chassis. It provides a simple, low-overhead point-to-point connection capable of moving continuous data streams, such as raw radar or sonar feeds, without CPU intervention.
