An Erickson is a three-piece conduit union: two threaded end pieces that go onto each pipe and a center nut that draws them together, so the joint is made without rotating either length. It closes the last gap in a run of rigid or IMC between two fixed points, such as enclosures or pipe already strapped in place. The name comes from a brand of the fitting and is often spelled Ericson on site.
Both ends are already made up tight, grab an Erickson to close the gap, you're not spinning thirty feet of rigid.
