Jeep
Pipeline slang for the high-voltage holiday detector, and also for the coating flaws it finds.
Pipeline construction slang for the high-voltage holiday detector, especially the coil spring electrode that wraps around the pipe and is walked along its length. To jeep the pipe is to holiday test it, usually right before lowering-in, and the defects themselves get called jeeps, as in counting jeeps on a joint. Each alarm or spark flags a flaw for patching.
Jeep the whole string before the sideboom picks it up, and patch every jeep you find.
