Dive

nounStandard termAviation

A steep, nose-down descent maneuver that rapidly trades altitude for airspeed.

A flight maneuver where the aircraft's nose is pitched downward significantly below the horizon. This results in a rapid loss of altitude and a corresponding increase in airspeed, often used in combat tactics, aerobatics, or emergency descents.
