A jacked up truck or SUV has aftermarket suspension components installed to raise the frame and body higher than the factory ride height. This modification allows for oversized tires and improves off-road approach angles, but raises the center of gravity and alters driveline geometry. Installers must often drop the transfer case or extend driveshafts to compensate.

Insider tip
If a truck is jacked up more than three inches without correcting the pinion angle, U-joint failure is almost guaranteed.
