Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) is a safety limit set by the vehicle manufacturer specifying the maximum load a specific axle can carry. It accounts for the strength of the axle, suspension, wheels, and tires. Vehicles have separate ratings for the front and rear axles, and exceeding either rating can lead to premature bearing failure, blown tires, or compromised braking performance.
Before you load that pallet of concrete into the bed, check the rear GAWR on the door placard so we don't snap a leaf spring.
