unitStandard termUnits

A metric unit of mass equal to one octillion grams or 10^27 grams.

A ronnagram represents 10^27 grams, or one octillion grams. The ronna prefix was introduced to the SI system to measure extremely large astronomical bodies like gas giants and stars without resorting to massive scientific notation. Jupiter, for example, has a mass of about 1.9 million ronnagrams.

Heard on the job

When calculating the mass of the Jovian system, we can now express Jupiter as almost two million ronnagrams.
