A metric unit of catalytic activity equal to one-tenth of a katal. Its symbol is dkat. It measures the amount of a catalyst that increases the rate of a chemical reaction by 0.1 moles per second. Like the katal itself, it is extremely large for practical biochemistry.
Heard on the job
The industrial reactor requires a catalyst activity of at least two decikatals to maintain the target reaction rate.
