Cotton wax

nounStandard termTextiles

A dense cotton fabric treated with paraffin or beeswax to make it highly water-resistant.

A tightly woven cotton canvas or poplin that has been impregnated with a wax compound. The wax fills the microscopic spaces between the fibers, creating a barrier against rain and wind while allowing the fabric to age with a distinct, creased patina.
