Center back (CB) is the vertical reference line running straight down the middle of the back of a garment or pattern piece. It is a critical alignment point for drafting flat patterns, placing zippers, and measuring garment length from the nape of the neck to the hem. Pattern pieces are often cut on the fold along this line to ensure perfect symmetry.
