Secure Voice over Secure IP is a military and government standard for transmitting encrypted voice data over an encrypted data network. It applies two distinct layers of cryptography: one to protect the voice payload itself, and a second to protect the IP tunnel carrying the data. This double-wrapped architecture ensures that even if the network encryption is compromised, the voice traffic remains unreadable.
