Thirty-twomo

nounStandard termPrinting

A very small book format created by folding a printed sheet into 32 leaves.

A traditional book format where a single large sheet of paper is folded five times to create 32 leaves, or 64 pages. The resulting page size depends on the dimensions of the original parent sheet, but it typically produces a miniature book around 3 to 5 inches tall. This format is often used for pocket bibles, hymnals, or novelty editions.

The client wants the pocket guide bound as a thirty-twomo so it fits easily in a shirt pocket.

Insider tip

Because of the numerous folds, the paper used for a thirty-twomo must be extremely thin to prevent the spine from bulging and the pages from tearing at the gussets.
