Real image

nounStandard termPhotonics

An image formed by the actual convergence of light rays at a specific location in space.

An optical reproduction formed when rays from an object pass through a converging lens or reflect from a concave mirror and physically intersect. Unlike virtual images, real images can be projected directly onto a screen, sensor, or burn paper placed at the focal plane.

Put the beam profiler exactly where the real image forms so we can measure the focused spot size.
