The solid radial segment of a crankshaft that connects the main journal to the crankpin.

The thick, arm-like portion of a crankshaft that offsets the crankpin from the axis of rotation. It transmits the bending and torsional loads from the piston thrust and often incorporates counterweights to balance the rotating assembly.
