A section of pavement edge lowered to the level of the roadway.

A drop kerb is a ramped section of a sidewalk edge that meets the street surface. It is installed to allow vehicles to cross the pavement into a driveway, or to provide barrier-free access for pedestrians with strollers and wheelchair users.
