Round polypropylene monofilaments are woven so the openings between them are uniform and stay open under load. The result combines high strength with high permittivity and a percent open area (POA) that can be specified, which suits erosion control under riprap, shoreline revetments and drainage filters in fine or gap-graded soils. It costs more than slit film of similar strength.
Under the riprap we need the monofilament woven, the slit film will blind off against that silt.
