RECEO is a traditional incident command acronym that dictates the strategic priorities on a fireground. It reminds the incident commander to first address life safety (Rescue), protect adjacent structures (Exposures), prevent the fire from spreading (Confinement), put the fire out (Extinguishment), and finally check for hidden fire (Overhaul).
