The liquid product of catalytic reforming, a process that rearranges the molecular structure of low-octane naphtha into high-octane aromatics and branched alkanes. Reformate is a primary blending stock for premium motor gasoline and serves as a major source of aromatic chemicals like benzene, toluene, and xylene.
