Resistivity

nounStandard termElectrotechnology

The intrinsic property of a material that quantifies how strongly it opposes the flow of electric current.

A fundamental bulk property of a material indicating its resistance to electrical conduction, independent of the size or shape of the sample. It is measured in ohm-metres. Copper and aluminum have very low resistivity, making them excellent conductors, while materials like glass or rubber have extremely high resistivity.

We need to test the soil resistivity before designing the earthing grid for the new substation.
