UC

abbreviationStandard termElectronics

Ultra capacity refers to energy storage devices, like supercapacitors, that hold vastly more charge than standard capacitors.

Ultra capacity denotes a class of electrochemical capacitors that bridge the gap between electrolytic capacitors and rechargeable batteries. These devices achieve massive capacitance values, often measured in hundreds or thousands of farads, by using porous carbon electrodes and an electrolyte to create an extremely thin electric double layer. They are deployed in systems requiring rapid charge and discharge cycles, such as regenerative braking or memory backup power.
