The Symbolic Network Analysis Program (SNAP) is a historic circuit simulation tool that generates symbolic expressions for network responses rather than purely numerical outputs. Engineers used it to find transfer functions and analyze how specific component values impacted overall circuit behavior in the frequency domain. It laid the groundwork for later computer-aided design and SPICE-based simulators.
Before we had graphical SPICE tools, we used SNAP to pull the transfer function of these active filters.
