A legacy removable storage device consisting of a thin, flexible magnetic disk sealed in a plastic carrier. Drives read and write data sequentially using a magnetic head that physically contacts the spinning media. They maxed out around 1.44 megabytes for standard 3.5-inch versions and are entirely obsolete in consumer hardware, though they still run specific industrial controllers and avionics systems.
