A chiplet is an independent block of silicon circuitry that handles a specific function, such as processing, memory, or input/output. Instead of manufacturing one massive, expensive monolithic die, engineers fabricate multiple smaller chiplets and connect them using high-speed interconnects on a shared substrate. This approach drastically improves manufacturing yields and allows mixing different silicon nodes in the same processor package.
We're using a 5-nanometer node for the compute chiplet but keeping the IO die on a cheaper 14-nanometer process.
