In-line inspection: surveying a pipeline from the inside with instrumented tools that travel with the product flow. Magnetic flux leakage tools map metal loss, ultrasonic tools measure wall thickness and find cracks, and caliper tools record dents and ovality. The ILI report lists each anomaly with depth, length, clock position and distance, and drives the dig list and repair decisions.
