A liquid suspension of minerals applied to ceramics that melts into a glass coating.

A mixture of silica, fluxes, and colorants suspended in water that is applied to the surface of ceramic wares. When fired in a kiln, the mixture melts and fuses to the clay body, forming a hard, waterproof, and often decorative glass coating.
