Silane coupling agents have one end that bonds to glass, metal oxides or minerals and another that reacts with the adhesive polymer, forming a chemical bridge and improving durability in humidity. They are used as dilute wipes, added to adhesive formulas or applied in primers. Chlorinated polyolefin promoters do a similar job on polypropylene and TPO.
Wipe the glass with the adhesion promoter, one pass, let it flash, then the tape goes on.
