Concrete surface profile is judged against a set of ten replica chips, from CSP 1, nearly flat like acid-etched concrete, to CSP 10, heavily scarified. Membrane and coating makers specify a range, for example CSP 3 to 5 for many fluid-applied membranes, and the method needed to reach it, such as grinding, shot blasting or scarifying.
Membrane data sheet wants CSP 3 minimum, that grinder's only giving us a 2, bring in the shot blaster.
