ISO flange

nounStandard termVacuum

Larger elastomer-sealed flange family, clamped with claws or bolted, used for pump and chamber ports.

The ISO-K (clamped) and ISO-F (bolted) flange families, covering nominal sizes from DN63 up to several hundred millimetres, used where KF is too small and an elastomer seal is acceptable. A centring ring carrying an O-ring sits between plain flange faces, often supported by an outer ring. They are the usual mount for turbo pumps, cryopumps and gate valves on production tools.

Heard on the job

New turbo has an ISO 160 flange on the inlet, so we need claw clamps and a centering ring with an outer ring.
