Supplied as rolls or bales of sheeted pulp, it is fed into hammermills that fiberize it dry, and the loose fibers are air-formed into diaper cores or airlaid webs. Long southern pine fibers give bulk and absorbent capacity, and treated grades shred with less energy and fewer knots. In cores fluff is mixed with superabsorbent polymer, and in airlaid with bico fiber.
Hammermill is throwing knots again, check the moisture on that fluff pulp roll.
