Integrated part load value. Chillers spend most of their hours well below full load, so IPLV weights efficiency at the four load points at 1, 42, 45 and 12 percent respectively, under standard condenser water relief. It is usually stated in kilowatts per ton for large chillers, where lower is better. NPLV applies the same weighting at a project's own design conditions.
Full-load kW per ton is about the same on both chillers, but the variable-speed one's IPLV is 0.38 against 0.55.
