Typically punched and drawn polypropylene with square or rectangular apertures, it confines aggregate in two directions and spreads load over a soft subgrade. It is placed flat on the subgrade or within the base course, with overlaps that grow as the subgrade gets softer. Typical uses are haul roads, parking areas, working platforms and crane pads.
Biaxial geogrid at the bottom of the base, overlap two feet because the subgrade is pumping.
