A historic plant breeding technique that uses radiation to induce genetic mutations.

The practice of exposing seeds or growing plants to a radioactive isotope, usually cobalt-60, to trigger random genetic changes. Breeders then select the offspring that show desirable traits like disease resistance, altered colors, or increased yield.
